Privacy, without the guessing game.
Last updated: August 14, 20261. What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you use Blurtline.
Blurtline is designed as an offline, pass-the-phone party game where teams describe and guess words during timed rounds.
2. No Account Required
You do not need to create a developer-operated account, profile, username, or password to play Blurtline.
Core gameplay is available without signing in.
Blurtline is designed to keep its game state and settings on the device rather than building an online profile about you.
3. Personal Information
Blurtline does not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, payment information, precise location, contacts, or personal documents for normal gameplay.
4. Team Setup
Players may create teams or configure a local match. Team information is used to organize turns, display scores, and determine the winner.
If players choose custom team labels, those labels are treated as local game content.
5. Word Cards
Blurtline includes a built-in word bank used to create the cards shown during rounds.
Word selection may depend on the chosen category, difficulty, language, or other game settings.
6. Swipes and Game Controls
Blurtline processes touch gestures to operate the game. A swipe may mark a word as guessed correctly or skipped, depending on the direction and current game state.
These gestures are gameplay controls and are not used to identify the player.
7. Round Timer
The game processes countdown information locally to determine when a round begins and ends.
Players may be able to choose the duration of a round before starting a match.
8. Scores
Correct guesses may add points to the active team. Skips may have no effect or may apply a configured penalty.
Blurtline calculates scores locally and uses them to determine standings and match results.
9. Match Configuration
Blurtline may store or process settings such as:
- Number of teams
- Round duration
- Winning score
- Skip penalty preference
- Difficulty
- Word category
- Language
These settings exist to configure the local game.
10. Turn Management
During a match, Blurtline may keep track of which team is currently playing, completed rounds, team scores, and which team should receive the next turn.
11. Local Storage
Blurtline may store limited information on your device so that supported preferences remain available.
- Game settings
- Selected language
- Difficulty preference
- Category preference
- Round configuration
- Supported local match state
12. Offline Operation
Blurtline is designed to run without an internet connection.
Word selection, timers, swipes, scoring, team turns, match progression, and built-in game content are handled on the device.
13. Microphone
Blurtline's core description-and-guess gameplay does not require the app to record or analyze the conversation happening between players.
Players hear and judge guesses themselves as part of the in-person party game.
14. Device Permissions
Core gameplay does not require access to your contacts, camera, precise location, messages, call history, photos, or personal documents.
15. Advertising
Blurtline is designed as an ad-free game. Core gameplay does not require an advertising identifier.
16. Tracking
Blurtline does not use team scores, guessed words, skipped cards, selected categories, difficulty settings, or match results to create cross-app advertising profiles.
17. Third-Party Sharing
Blurtline does not sell or rent locally stored game settings, team information, scores, or match information to advertisers or data brokers.
18. Children's Privacy
Blurtline does not require personal information to be submitted to the developer in order to play its core local party-game modes.
19. Data Removal
Information stored locally by Blurtline can generally be removed by clearing the application's storage or uninstalling the application.
This may also remove saved preferences and supported local game state.
20. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be revised if a future version of Blurtline changes its features or the way information is handled.
The current version will be identified by the "Last updated" date shown on this page.
